Default Alibaba wholesaler are they good & reliable ?

I have spent 100’s of hours now searching for good , honest and reliable wholesalers but I am practically at a dead end . There is one I found called Alibaba and I was wondering how good and reliable they are. Also are there any particular wholesalers/companies that are listed within Ali Baba that I should avoid or on the other hand are there any that are more about standing than the others .

I am no expert on the subject but Alibaba is not a wholesaler or supplier. They are a web site where you can connect with hundreds or thousands of Chinese manufacturing companies. I do think they have some guarantees that can help insure you don't get taken. There are some real bargains to be had and you can find about anything you want on the site. The quality is a bit hit or miss. Some products seem very well made and some work but may not have the durability that a name brand product would have.

I have bought a few things from the Chinese companies that market through Alibaba but did it at a US trade show face to face with them.

Alibaba is one of the largest and fastest growing companies in China. It is headed by Jack Ma who is held in about the same esteem as Steve Jobs or Bill Gates. Their stock is traded here and has been a hot stock.

I live in China, so I use Taobao a lot. I help friends purchase wholesale (many of these sellers are also on Alibaba; Alibaba: wholesale, Taobao: retail). I've never had a negative experience with any of the sellers, I think it's all about luck though. If you approach them with a good attitude they will treat you well.

Once I returned something that was not as described. It was a Chinese unbranded phone. They told me that there was an English language option but there wasn't. So I returned the phone. Not only did they cover the cost of postage, they also gave me a 100% refund.

Some sellers will advertise money-back guarantee no questions asked, but this isn't entirely true. Many times, they will offer a refund...assuming the wrapping remains intact when they receive their item back. So you might want to pay close attention to these conditions that they advertise.

I used to work in imports for a large company in my country and dealt with Alibaba a few times. If you want to buy in bulk, do not hesitate to request for samples first. Many large companies offer samples for free, depending on the cost of the product.

I had a bad experience with Alibaba. If I were to do business with China, I would visit and conduct business in person.

Its not reliable at all. I have had some experience in past. Their support are really good when I tried to list my client's business but soon I realized their most of the wholesaler are not good. Mostly are from China and they are known for not only cheap product but altogether temporary work. Don't go with them.
