I tend to use Firefox. A lot of my IT friends tend to swear by Chrome. I don't like IE.

As to which is best, I'm not sure there is a best. I think it's a matter of preference for the most part, or what is most familiar.

Mostly it is a choice of preference. Pages will display correctly on the major browsers. From a technical standpoint Chrome is current the best browser, followed by Firefox and Safari. IE is at the back of the pack.

However, many sites are programmed to only accept IE browsers, or to display poorly on other browsers.

"Best" is whatever works for you for the sites you frequent. Might be Chrome, Firefox, Safari or even IE. Just depends on the situation. Best is always what works and doesn't compromise your experience.

IE is the worst. And that fact that so many people NEVER update it is infuriating. But then again, Microsoft doesn't make anything easy. You can't access some services unless you are using IE. Some of their own stuff isn't compatible with each other. MS is a total CF when it comes to the browser. Their attempt to control everything and force people to use IE as been a dismal failure.

Personally I use FF for everyday use. For work it has better developer tools. And for personal use I like that I can bookmark something on my desktop and look at it later on my tablet.

I'm a big fan of Chrome (I use it on my desktop/laptop, Tablet and Phone and it keeps my bookmarks synchronized)
I used to like Firefox, but they got in the habit of releasing updates a bit too frequently, just to release an update per their schedule/timeline...and each time this happened I needed to restart the browser (Chrome may do the same frequent updates, but it doesn't require me to restart the browser every time).

For both, I use the Adblock and IETab (For those sites that absolutely require IE).

I like Chrome the best. I think its faster. Then I like Firefox but it crashes at times for me. I'm not on windows so I don't use IE.

I also use all of them, depending on what project I am doing.

I'll test on all of them but prefer to use Safari.

I don't think there is a best browser. A lot of it comes down to personal choice. Chrome has become the most used browser and it's easy to understand why. It's fast, renders pages well, updates automatically, among other things. Yet the speed thing seems to be more on the Windows side than the Mac side so I end up using Safari the most.

I actually use several browsers because I'm always testing how sites look and function. Mainly it's Safari, Chrome, Firefox, and Opera. I only have Internet Explorer on another machine and so only use it when I'm specifically testing.

There are things I like about each browser and things I don't like. It really is about personal choice. And since they're all free you can try as many as you'd like and see which you prefer.
