*Good SEO including article marketing, (Newspaper and magazine articles still work, and guest authoring and blogging, and press releases (although minimal)

*Social Media ..Facebook, Twitter, My Space (best for music and other arts), You Tube videos (Instructional, How To, and Promotional), and professional sites like Linked In.

*Podcasting, if you have an expertise that can offer help to others, or about an industry as a whole.

Paid ?

PPC. Pay Per Click...Google Adwords (Either learn it well, or hire a professional. you can waste a lot of money tying to "wing it"), or advertising on related niche sites.

If you have an established list, email marketing is cheap and can be good for returning customers. If not, it takes a while to build a list...usually can be done from your site, but there are many methods to study, to help you build a list relatively quick.
