Hello from Toronto

We are a new small biz and we aim to help other small firms manage their businesses by offering management education, tools, services and products. We hope to become a one stop shop where small business owners would learn how to and find what they need to manage their businesses - wish us luck.

We are here to see what are some (of the many) challenges that other fellow entrepreneurs face and hopefully address some of them. Business management is half art and half science and we'll be focused primarily on the science part, i.e convey how business schools approach one issue or another.

What exactly do you offer that is different from others..what makes you unique?

Hi Tinker, thanks for the question

We offer "one stop shop" for EVERYTHING (more or less) an entrepreneur or small business owner needs either for free or at affordable prices.

Everything that we offer can be found in other places at similar or higher prices. Keywords here however are ONE STOP SHOP or CONVENIENCE.

Tools

We offer one online platform where you can manage, with one login, your sales and marketing (crm, marketing campaigns, orders etc), your website, bookkeeping, employees (time sheets, forms, payroll, etc), operations (schedulers, project management tools, voip phone, etc) etc etc etc.

You (will) have there tools to do all of the above yourself OR let other people (like your virtual assistant, or employees or your accountant etc) help you with parts of your processes, remotely.

Services

On the platform you will also be able to find a service provider (accountant/bookkeeper), lawyer, insurance broker, business consultant/coach, marketing consultant, virtual assistant, IT people etc or we can help in some areas as well.

Education

You will also find information about how to manage a business, in the EDUCATION and blog sections. To "divide and conquer" such a vast subject we follow the "professional business management" framework taught in MBA programs. We start from high level where we talk about the 6 main functions of the business management (strategy, finance, marketing, operations, HR, r&d) and then we drill down in different specific areas.

Say in marketing we list ALL the different ways to promote your business, offline or online and from there can further drill down into even more specific subjects like how to promote in social media or how to cold call.

To give another example, in Finance we cover different subjects about bookkeeping/accounting but also about how to finance a business, either using equity (find investors, VC, angel investors, find partners, crowdfunding, gvt grants etc) or debt (business loans, sba loans, etc).

And we do that kind of exercise in all 6 main business functions that I mentioned before. Huge undertaking...

Here we'll create either proprietary content or curate where we find great sources on specific subjects but one thing we'll make sure is that there will be no fluff.

Conclusion

Ok, I could talk hours and hours about all that but I hope you got an idea...As a stretched (for time and money) small business owner, wouldn't it be nice to go in one place and find 80% of what you need in order to manage your business (tools, learning, services and even products)....That is exactly what we are trying to offer.
