I've tried that on occasion. I enjoy designing them, personally, because of the cleanliness and simplicity. Letting the words speak for themselves. I've found they get likes and a few shares, but not many comments. I may just need to pick more inspiring quotes though
The quote pics that receive most engagement tend to be very short, simple, motivational and have a high quality nature photo, much like this. I am seeing more sites pop up though that let users create a generic quote pic in seconds.
