Computer Programming and Coding Businesses

Does anyone know about coding and computer programming as a way to make money?

I found a website called codecademy.com. You can pay for classes on coding.

I considered this after reading a blog post about the coding business. I don't have much knowledge in this field, but the courses are fun and engaging.

I was wondering if anyone here knows anything about this. Right now I'm deciding between focusing on coding or becoming a virtual bookkeeper. Currently I am in school for accounting and have a foundation to work with. However, coding seems interesting as well. Overall I'd like to be able to start a new business in either field soon and don't know what to do.

So before I pay the price for a full membership on codecademy.com I'd like to know more about other people's experiences.
