    Hi Theo,

Nice to meet you. A gas station has to be a challenge. Have you thought about any particular strategies to make it profitable?

    Thank you, Brian.

Hi back at you, my name is Steve and welcome to our small business community.

I'm curious like shrinkme. What made you choose a gas station. I know they are very difficult to make profitable. When I was taking a marketing class, the gas station model was used as an especially challenging business. It's pretty much impossible to make money on gas due to the market setup. That's why convenience stores, donut shops, and other add ons are attached to the gas station.

With that said, it's really a topic for a separate thread but many of us here will be curious and happy to discuss your business ambitions.

Thanks for the welcomes everyone ! I'm still in the figuring out my business strategy phase , so I don't have any specifics in mind right now . That said I definitely intend on starting up a combined convenience store/gas station and if that fails I'll look into starting up a simple convenience store . I plan on setting up shop in Virginia by the way .
