    Default Marketing on Reddit

So, we'd like to explore using reddit as a marketing tool.

How do we go about it without sounding salesy (which is against their policy)?
Would we start discussions? Can we link to products?

Reddit is a good place to have feedback on what you are offering
but you have to adapt your copywritting to this website, you will not have the same approach thant a landing page

I had honest and interesting feedback on reddit asking about my product

Do not make posts. Instead, you can advertise on Reddit with their banner ads and such. As a daily user of Reddit for about two - three years, the community is very supportive of Reddit financially. They understand that Reddit isn't the most profitable business, so they're supportive of advertisements and aren't too bashful like YouTube users would be. If you're going to use Reddit for marketing, LEGIT ADS THAT YOU PAY FOR ONLY.... unless you're on a subreddit that is specifically designated for advertising posts / allows advertising. Check the rules for that subreddit. For example, my state has a subreddit where you can advertise on it if you're a local business.

Reddit users will bash you mercilessly if you try to promote your product there. They can detect BS in a few seconds and doing such a thing can even ban your profile. A good way as Owen mentioned is to go for reddit ads which will be more beneficial for you.

If you really want to use reddit, be honest and ask people about their suggestions, advice and opinions. Be helpful, share sound advice and build a reputation in the community first.
