Tomorrow, February 6, 2009, the new SBF celebrates 6 months since the doors opened. The members here are awesome! As of right now, the posts are over 11,400 with over 300 members and over 100 of them "active." Best of all, it's quality, not just quantity. I believe we have far surpassed what we lost when the old SBF fell apart.

We rock! It's definitely about quality and I'm so proud of what has been started here.

Kudos to all our members, and especially to Vangogh. Without him this place would not exist.

Amen to that, Kristine! Vangogh is the SBF and deserves to be recognized as such.

Thanks Steve and Kristine, though I'm going to say the success of SBF has as much to do with the community than anything else. We have a great group of people here creating quality posts. It's amazing how much anyone reading can learn from all the threads here.

Congrats to all of us for a great 6 months and I'm looking forward to what the next 6 months will bring.

Well done, to 6 months, and to another yet to come. Be interesting to see how the growth continues steady or if it hits a point where i leaps ahead.

I think we'll see a leap at some point.

Coming right up. I think I see the virtual bartender now. I'll send him to your table.

Can I have a virtual caffeine-free root beer? I never have liked alcohol and Doc says I have to cut back on the caffeine so I guess I can volunteer to be a virtual designated driver!

I want to know what's on the buffet... I'm almost half way through this pregnancy and I'm hungry all the time!

Scotch. The Glenlivit 15 year French Oak Reserve. Over Ice.

Or a beer. I'm not too picky.

Nevermind VG - I'll get it myself :) (it's Friday afternoon!)

Dan, you obviously have good taste. Good whiskey (or whisky depending on which you're referring to) should never be ruined by serving it any other way than neat or on the rocks. Make mine a Crown Royale over ice. Or a Sam Adams.

Yup - loves me some good whiskey (looks better with an e in my opinion). I like most single malts, with the one I mentioned being my favorite. I like Bourbon too (Woodford is my current bottle). I usually drink over ice, as I just have a preference for it being a little cold. And I do like Crown as well.

Sam Adams is good stuff too, although I usually experiment with more local fare these days (but Sammie is the preferred fallback in many restaurants... it also hold a special place for me because it introduced me to the better types of beer. And their winter lager is very, very good!)

I will just stand in the virtual corner.

Bourbon, yes. Maker's Mark or WIld Turkey. The name WIld Turkey doesn't sound so great, but the bourbon sure is. I like it cold too, but neat has the advantage of lasting much longer because I drink it very slowly and enjoy every sip.

If a virtual drink crosses state lines via email is that a crime?

Only if you are not virtually over the legal drinking age ;)

Maybe you'd just end up in a virtual jail cell anyway.

With virtually no idea how you got there.

And virtually no way of getting out.
