I started a LLC company in NJ.
I am the only owner.
I want to add a member to it.
How do I go about that?

I don't want to have to pay to have someone do it,
I would rather do it myself.

If you need anymore info, please let me know.

Thank you

regardless of what you do you will have to pay someone to do it either a lawyer or an accountant, you surely want to do it the right way so you might aswell pay. How long have you had your business? if you will be filing taxes by next year your accountant could amend it before filing but for now you can have a temporary contract that you have someone in the LLC as of (date) if you are avoiding filing fees.

If you want to learn more about how to run and change an LLC, I would recommend Nolo's guide to LLCs. You should be able to find at your local library or on Amazon. I have used for my LLC with great success.

You need to write up a binding operating agreement, otherwise you and your partner will be subject to your states standard limited liability act. Then you need to vote, since you are the only partner, and then the LLC can take capital from the partner.

I agree with tmerrill, look for the book in your local library
