I think the web designers on this forum will enjoy this infographic (http://www.topwebdesignschools.org/design-clients/) from www.topwebdesignschools.org (http://www.topwebdesignschools.org).

Yep, that pretty much covers it.

But you can usually tell who the people are that are going to be a nightmare to work with, think that they're paying for unlimited time, and/or have no idea what they want and expect you to keep building guesses..from the first phone call.

They are usually the ones that want you to give them a price before they're willing to discuss what they want their website to do or look like. Or what materials they have or don't have.
I'm sure those people make a lot of phone calls to multiple web designers, before they eventually pay 3x's more than they had to, or get ripped off by someone.

I was actually asked to post that on my site, but I decided not to. It is funny though in some places not necessarily accurate. The section at the top about clients talking like this is both true and funny. I think clients of mine have said pretty much all those things at one point or another.

I love it, and I agree. Sadly, I think that this happens in industries where the client has to make choices.

Since we have to think and plan in advance, we seldom know invest the time to define what we want. And we go the expensive road o trial and error LIVE.
