LinkedIn is different than other social media and therefore using it to make "real money" in your type of business is probably less likely. I use it to extensively to maintain contact with my professional network (bankers, accountants, consultants, clients, etc...) and, for what I use it for, it is useful in ways that Twitter and Facebook are not. The groups are also something that, at least in the current iteration, are different than what you see on Facebook. I'm not saying LinkedIn is better overall (that depends on what you need), just different, and for me better in that different way.

thats kind of how i look at it....very good for some, like you, but probably not too important for us...
im not looking to hire anyone or to get promoted.and my referrals probably wouldnt come from there.... my retail customers wouldnt be there looking for a store to go to...
