Has anyone had any experience having their own iPhone (iPod Touch, iPad) or Droid app developed?
Or know anyone that has had an app developed?
I am looking for some suggestions of developers to speak with about an upcoming project.

Any help is appreciated.

You can try a website like rentacoder. I get a lot of my programming work done there since it is a lot cheaper. You do have to make sure you pick the right programmer though because some really do suck. Check their feedback. It also has an escrow system so you don't have to worry about them taking your money and running. Hope this helps.

You might check out iPhone Dev SDK (http://iphonedevsdk.com/) It is a community for iOS coders.

Harold there are definitely companies that program apps for you. The same way you and I will develop websites for people. A couple I found with a quick search

Sourcebits (http://www.sourcebits.com/)
xcube (http://www.xcubelabs.com/)

There are plenty more like the two above. I've been searching app development services and adding either iphone or android or both. You can also try iOS

Just found a site called MobiFlex (http://mobiflex.me/Default.aspx) that makes it easy for you to create apps for iOS and Android devices. Kind of a WYSIWYG tool for apps. I don't know how complex your app can be with the services. There's a video on the home page that should give you a feel for how it works.
