For me it's shocking to see Google having security breaches, but this is the second one now. At least Google is shutting G+ down.

Google has announced yet another data breach (https://www.blog.google/technology/safety-security/expediting-changes-google-plus/) affecting its Google+ social network.
This incident is separate to the one that came to light in October, which prompted Google to announce that it would shut Google+ down – a decision that the Wall Street Journal said (https://www.wsj.com/articles/google-exposed-user-data-feared-repercussions-of-disclosing-to-public-1539017194?mod=djemalertNEWS) was calculated to avoid reputational damage and regulatory interest.
Following the latest incident, Google has decided to close Google+ four months earlier than originally planned.

I was a pretty aggressive user of Google+ when it first got introduced. The majority of people on it were in the SEO community since it was believed that Google+ could lead to enhanced rankings. I actually made a few real life friends and acquaintances from it.
