I'm not one to jump into starting political debates, but with the upcoming federal election in about 6 weeks this needs to be brought to the forefront. I get the impression that this guy and his advisers really do not understand how to read statistics. Do we as Canadians really want someone running the country that doesn't understand business (small, medium, and large)?

Actually, it does *if* your business is part of the global economy.

As Brian said, it could. However, what really scares me is if this guy gets elected in up here and Clinton or J. Bush gets in next year for you (not sure what to think about Trump yet).

Trump is trash. Plain and simple. He's too ballsy and politically incorrect, he's going to anger a lot of people and cause too many international problems. He'll run this country like a company. If you're going to vote for anyone vote for Bernie Sanders.

Trump's being ballsy and non PC is what I like about him. Too many people appear to be scared to speak up when the PC police are around the corner. I can't speak to how he'll run the country because I don't know enough about him.

You forgot that I'm Canadian. Can't vote for Bernie Sanders. However, if I had a horse in the US race, I would probably be torn between Scott Walker and Ted Cruz.

Trump resonates with those disgusted with the GOP establishment.

As for Bernie, why? His positions are very much against small businesses and exhibit a gross misunderstanding of how both the American and global economies work. For what it's worth, I have yet to meet a Bernie Sanders supporter that can articulate why they like him. Of course, that's likely because of rational ignorance (http://papers.ssrn.com/sol3/papers.cfm?abstract_id=1694650) when it comes to politics.

Well, he has quite a few political views that I agree with. The abortion is the only thing I really don't agree with, but that's totally off topic. https://berniesanders.com/issues/

As for businesses, there's some more information here: https://berniesanders.com/issues/reforming-wall-street/
