Wrote a moderately long post. Got a message that the post was to short, clicked the back button. The post was erased.

Sounds like one of those strange vBulletin glitches that happens every so often. Sorry it happened to you. I've gotten in the habit of copying any long post to the clipboard before trying to post. I'm not sure if there's anything I can do otherwise.

I've it happen to me too. I too copy to clipboard on long posts just to make sure.
