Somehow I missed this earlier, and we let almost the whole day slip by without anyone realizing that vangogh is having a birthday today. We really need to throw a surprise party.

The first round of virtual drinks is on me. Kristine usually supplies the virtual confetti, so I'm sure we can count on her to do that again. Who's bringing snacks?

Happy birthday vangogh!

Just want to let you know how much we appreciate what you have done here, and hope you have a wonderful day.

Wow! Thanks for pointing that out. I've been hyper focused leading up to the live presentation (via videoconference) today and celebrating ever since I got home...didn't know we were celebrating with VanGogh...

Have a great one...

And to everyone a happy long weekend (is that PC enough? I never know!)

How did I not know this. Man, I'm bad with dates.

I'll definitely supply the virtual confetti and the party hats too. I'll even throw in a triple chocolate cake.

Happy Birthday, Vangogh!

Thanks everyone. I guess for a change I don't need to bring anything to this party. Steve I think you blew the surprise though, by starting this thread. If you want I can be virtually surprised.

We will also virtually hide throughout the forums behind various topics and sub-forums. :)

Will you jump out and scare me?

Happy Birthday Steve!

I'll bring some virtual brownies warm out of the oven and some virtual homemade ice cream....

No. That's what viruses and "page errors" are for. Not people virtually hiding! :)

How about a virtual game of hide and seek then?

How did I miss your birthday!! Happy Birthday..Did you do anything fun?

Thanks Bryan. I didn't really do much yesterday other than make it a light day of work. The older I get the less need I feel to do something special. Maybe a little celebration this weekend.

Steve I think you blew the surprise though, by starting this thread.

With a bit more permissions I might have been able to hide this thread from you, but you just happen to walk into the room while we were still hanging up the decorations. Maybe I should have had Just H take you to a ball game as a diversion. I hope your birthday was a good one. If I'd realized it earlier, we would have had time to plan a bigger party.

Happy Birthday vanGogh!

We could all play virtual pin the tail on the donkey:

Oh well Steve. I'm a hard one to surprise. Some have tried, though few have succeeded.

Gavin I did it. I got the tail right on that donkey. Do I win anything? Maybe there's a pinata to whack. Candy for all!

I could get behind candy! Whacking a pinata could be therapeutic too.

Of course chocolate martinis would make everything better.

The would be weird falling out of a pinata.

Weird, but still fun.

Somehow I think Kristine meant the chocolate martini would be consumed before whacking the pinata, and not the prize inside. The virtual pin the tail on the donkey was fun, and I even got it right. I'm not sure that having a few virtual drinks and then swinging a virtual stick around while blindfolded is such a great idea. Vangogh is already missing one ear.

But the more martinis I drink the less I'll mind that missing ear. No reason we can't drink a few martinis and then have a few more fall out of the pinata. What's a party without a little risk of something going wrong.

Is the martini suppose to be in a sippy martini glass?

vangogh
04-11-2009, 12:16 PM
Sure. Who doesn't enjoy a good sippy cup. Maybe one with a big crazy straw too.

Dont forget one of those little paper umbrellas and an olive!

Anyway - did you have a good birthday? Any nice gifts?

Happy belated birthday vangogh!

Thanks goat.

Gavin it was a nice day. I'm past the age where it's such a big deal. The paper umbrellas and olives sound like a good idea. Maybe the olives would be best in a non-chocolate martini though.

I was thinking that the chocolate martini drinking and pinata smacking could be two separate activities, but I'm flexible.

Maybe we could have chocolate martini slushees and those could be in the pinata. Those could be good.
