I got back to the site and redesigned it to make it look a bit better.

Three questions:
1. Is the site's design good enough ?
2. Is POS the most popular tool used by businesses to catalog the products they sell ? (I can't find any solid answers)
3. Look at the SERP, is their anymore information that needs be added to each result (link to businesse's site...etc) ?

I want to make sure those questions are answered before I start creating a way to integrate businesses into the site.

Back in 1998, it would have been good enough. Why are you using such an ancient screen font?
Why are all the input boxes different styles?
Why are there scroll bars when you don't need it? Looks like bad HTML
Hire a logo designer for your logo
Theres no incentive at all to signup for anything... all it says "your just one step away".. away from what? What am I signing up for? What will you be doing with my personal information?

When I first enter the site, I have no clue what it is.

Nope. Back to the drawing board.
I have a personal pet peeve with ecommerce sites that ask me to sign up before I can see what they are even selling, but you aren't doing a good job of enticing anyone to even take a chance.
In this day and age, you have to be better.

Everything Woz said is really just the tip of the iceberg. It is not a well designed website at all.

Take a look at Dot and Bo. I hate the concept of signing up first, but at least they do a good job at presentation.

Is the site on its way in terms of design ?

No, again it looks very 1998. It looks like a developer with no previous experience in UI/UX or makreting put this together.

I agree. There is nothing there that would make me want to sign up for anything. It's a blank page with no information.

Yeah...I thought i was doing something wrong. There is nothing there except a sign up. Is this a page you send existing contacts to? Otherwise I don't understand what it is.

Whats making the site's design 20 years too late ? Is it just the fact there is a lack of information on the website itself ?

The short answer would be to hire a UI expert and a branding strategist. What is wrong with your current design and layout I've spent 11 years learning and it cannot be conveyed through a simple post. You're a developer and not a designer, it's easy to see it in the design, layout, colours, branding and lack of copywriting on your website. You are not google, or nike where they can get away with just a logo. Slapping a text input box and a shoddy logo that reads P44 made in MS Paint will not amount to convincing users to know and/or want to use your website. It looks like student work.
