We are wondering the legalities of starting up an a US branch specifically for sales/marketing for a European software dev company to expand its market.
Traditionally I assumed i would just need a Foreign LLC, after reading articles it was advised that forming a corporation would be better off.
This would be a joint venture operation that we are planning. Specifically to expand our current market in Europe to USA. Many clients are hesitant that we do not have a US branch office right now. As an online company our US associate would work from home providing marketing support and customer relations to our euro staff.
Do we need a lawyer to do this or is this basic enough to handle on ones own. What license types are required for this type of joint venture. Taxes and financial issues... US project revenue would need to be sent to Europe to our team how would taxes be handled.
