Hopefully, this doesnt break any rules or regulations. If so, feel free to wipe this off the map. I dont wield the power Vangogh does.

In any case, it common that I come across a thread and someone will mention, follow this person they have good content. My hope is to compile list of important blogs into a list.

So, to start I will use the Blog Vangogh recommended.

No rule breaking, but this thread could get unwieldy in a hurry. If it gets some good response I'll probably have to go in and edit your post to keep all the blogs in the single thread. Not a problem though.

Dave's blog was a good first choice. Since I've often posted seo and blogging blogs I'll toss out a few design blogs I like.

Design
Smashing Magazine (http://www.smashingmagazine.com/)
Nettuts (http://nettuts.com/)
Vandelay Web Design (http://vandelaydesign.com/)
DesignM.ag (http://designm.ag/)
CSS-Tricks (http://css-tricks.com)

These might be better in the wordpress section, but they are two blogs I follow regularly for cool wordpress customization ideas:

WpRecipes.com : Daily recipes to cook with WordPress (http://www.wprecipes.com/)

Weblog Tools Collection (http://weblogtoolscollection.com/)

Those are some goods ones, that I came across and have been following. I will edit and maintain the list also.

I will keep it orderly, ABC and filter some items if the list starts getting crazy. My hope is this will become a complete list of excellent blogs to follow.

Cool Bryan. I wasn't sure it you'd be able to keep editing the thread. I thought there was a time limit, but maybe not. Let me know if you find you can no longer edit the original post.

I had a feeling it was timed. Let me see if I can change for this thread. I'm not sure if that's possible. If not I'll have to pay attention to the thread and do the editing.

Just looked and I'm not seeing any quick or easy fix. When I have time I'll look deeper, but I'm pretty sure it's not something that can be done without completely changing the forum permissions for everyone and I don't plan on doing that.

Why do most blogs are 'no follow'?

The nofollow value of the rel attribute was added to fight spam. The idea was that spammers would leave comments on blogs just for the link back to their site, which polluted blogs with a lot of garbage comments. It didn't really work since spammers have other reasons for leaving junk comments.

Google morphed nofollow to mean you don't trust what's on the other side of a link. Since links play a large role in their algorithm you may not want to help a site, but at the same time link to them as part of an article or post. Adding nofollow is supposed to say "sure I'm linking to this page, but don't consider that a vote for the quality of the page"

All nofollow means is what it says. It's a message to search engines not to follow the link. Most don't believe it works as advertised.
