If you have a blog feel free to post a link to it and tells everyone a little about it.

My blog is TheVanBlog (http://www.vanseodesign.com/blog/). I write about a lot of the things we talk about here leaning toward the online aspects of running and marketing your business.

I do my best to offer tips on marketing and general online business. I'll post about web design and development, SEO, and social media too. If you like the info I post here, you'll probably like the blog too.

I'm always happy to have new subscribers

Now it's your turn. Do you have a blog? What's it about.

YAAAYYY!! A BLOGGING SECTION!!!:D

I have two blogs (that I update regularly):

HaroldMansfield.com (http://www.haroldmansfield.com) : I use this to vent. Just a few things that tick me off, and I cover current events. Mostly political right now, and definitely my own opinions, but, (not to get political) some things really tick me off and I need an outlet. PR3 in a few short months and readership is growing.

124 Beats Per Minute (http://www.124bpms.com) : I grew up with Dance Music, so this is my "Hobby blog".
It has gotten a lot of respect from the industry, and in the year that it has been up (started as a free hosted wordpress.com blog), my email box is full everyday with Press, New Releases, and Requests for album reviews.
Some of you from the old forum may remember when I started it. It has come a long way since then.[Redesign coming real soon}

I am so happy there is a blogging section, I have learned so much in the last year that I would love to share with "newbs".
Blogging is now a lot of fun for me.

I write two personal blogs and co-write another with two of my friends.

My personal blogs are When I'm Thin (http://www.whenimthin.com) which is about my journey toward fitness and a healthy weight. I also write Settling for More (http://www.settlingformore.com) which is where I talk about living the kind of life I want to live and how I plan to accomplish that goal.

I also co-write A Frugal Housewife (http://afrugalhousewife.com/) with two friends. I'm the token single girl of the group, so it kind of amuses me that I'm writing for a blog with that name.

I'm also Chairperson and chief writer for the Outdoor Bloggers Summit Blog (http://www.outdoorbloggerssummit.blogspot.com).

I'm with you eborg9. I'm glad to see a section on blogging. I love discussing blogging and how to be a better blogger.

I am fairly new to blogging, just six months testing the waters, and working with two blogs. The biggest problem i find is thinking of topics to blog about, that i dont end up writing page after page on the topic.

My Business Blog (http://www.joelbrown.id.au) - This was the first blog i started which was just an out of the blue idea that hey, maybe i should give this a go and shre my opinion on a few things. I looked to keep the focus on Business and Personal Development because that i s what i tend to spend a lot of my time on. However the odd other topic comes up. At this point i have not monetized this blog in anyway, however i am sure that will come at some point in the future.

Double my way to 1 million (http://www.97s.net) - This was my second blog which followed quite quickly after my personal blog. It was sparked by a article and book that i found on the internet which touted 24 steps to $1million (i think that many steps) and i seemed like fun, trying it out and seemed something logical to track the progress in a blog. However what i am finding is it is a little harder then i though to get the ball rolling on this.

So yeah that is my blogging start, i hope to really build on my blogs, and get them going on a regular basis with posts that really do provide benefits for those who read them.

One of the things I want to add to the forum once we settle in more is a plugin that will display your latest blog post next to your avatar. You have to set things up so your blog pings the forum and you have to fill out something here to let the forum know what your blog is, but once it's set up you'll have a link on all your posts that leads back to your most recent blog post.

Joel finding topics can be tough. You'll find there will be weeks where everything flows and then weeks where you feel like you've said everything you can. The more you blog the more you find ways to get through the tough times. You can also write more posts when things are flowing and save some for when they aren't.

Yeah that is what i have been doing a little, more so with my article site then the my blog. I do not know how but in the last week or two i have written over a dozen 700+ word articles. Which on my current schedule of publishing articles will give me almost a month, to get around to doing more.

Just have to get into the blog posts now the same way, but maybe not so many words.

Wow. I'm not good at getting ahead on posting though I'm trying. It takes me awhile to write and I usually write long articles. I'm working on setting up a process where I record any idea that comes to mind and then start fleshing them out with notes and possible articles to link to and whatever other resources will make it better.

Next I want to create an outline for each post and then write based on the outline. I think the writing will go fast at that point.

Ideally I'll spend a little time every day doing one part of the process so it gets to where one hour a day ends up resulting in 7 posts a week or whatever number.

Before i started from reading a lot of other experiences, i realised that i need to have some backup posts or articles to go with, or i am forever going to be behind the eightball, i have been much better with the articles then i have with the blog posting, however i am trying to get both of them under control and have something like a month in advance, to give me more freedom in not having to be online at the sites so often.

I'd really like to do the same, but it's a struggle for me. It's strange, because I could easily write several dozen posts or article's worth of information here on the forum in any given day, but when it comes to actually writing something out for my blog I don't seem to do well getting ahead. I've tried setting aside a complete day to nothing but writing and I've tried setting aside a certain amount of time each day for writing and I still don't get ahead.

I'll keep trying different things though and I'm sure I'll eventually get there.

I write Aaron's Hat Blog (http://aaronhats.com/blog/) and try to keep it light hearted. It's a great way to do SEO but also to keep my customers updated on the latest hats to arrive and I'll occasionally throw in some personal info. I've had some good luck selling hats in advance of when they show up. I announce the hat on the blog with a picture and give a special pre-order price. I've actually sold out of certain hat sizes even before the hats get delivered to the store.

Aaron, for some reason I didn't know you blogged. I just checked it out and it looks good. I didn't see a link on the blog back to the home page of the site. Is there one there?

It's fairly easy to add if not and I can probably walk you through adding a link in the sidebar or even making the image in the header link back to the blog if you're up for editing a couple of files.

Wow! All this time I never even realized that and nobody ever pointed it out. Imagine that. I'll see what I can do and if I need help I'll let you know.

Thanks,

Aaron

It was one of the first things I looked for. I guess I've been blogging for awhile and have worked on many others and notice those things.

Let me know if you have problems. The code to add is simple, but it may not be easy to know where it goes.

I've always liked your blog Aaron. It is interesting and well done. I'm not a big hat wearer but I've seen a few on your blog I wouldn't mind having.

AFHW is also fun. I love reading the tips from you and The Hunter's Wife. I always learn something.

The OBS Spotlight column is always interesting. It is fun to learn about the bloggers I read every day.

Not surprising that some would take you serious. Amazing how many people can't see the joke from the start. I thought your post title gave it away.

The sad thing is it probably would make a good business idea and I bet there are some people already offering the services.

Funny enough I had seen some posts referrenced on SERoundtable of peeps saying they did 'anti-rep' type services...so I am sure it's out there... maybe not on the synical level I went to... but I am sure many 'Reputation Management Firms' also dabble on that end... tis a sad world.

vangogh

I would think some of the rep firms do dabble on the dark side and I imagine there's a lot of under the table stuff going on. It's always been part of the black hat arsenal.

I have a blog where I talk about technology from a business owner's perspective. It's not too technical, and sometimes it is just things that I think business owners should be thinking about - even if it isn't related to technology. It is called Linda's Small Business IT Blog (http://www.kitechnologygroup.com/blog/index.php).

i love blogging....and mine is kind of all over the place..like a magpie.... magpie cottage (http://www.magpiecottage.blogspot.com) .but mainly about the store and all the different parts....plus a little personal and some business theory and the fun people that work at and flow thru the store....i try to leave politics out of it...but im so much for obama!!! and put that in once in a while...i put lots of other sites on if they hit me right...
i love having lots of pictures on...and have learned so much just doing the blog.....
i realize the customers are reading it, when they tell me or call me by name.... ones who never used my name before....
ive had some nice huge sales this year and i think the blog has helped bring them here.... mainly the pictures....
im getting about 50 hits a day...i dont go much for trading links or blogtag or spending tons of time posting nice comments on other blogs like the pink world wants....
what i like is i can manage the blog...as opposed to the website which i can do nothing about but give orders....
its mostly for my own enjoyment....but it makes me feel good when someone tells me they enjoy it...and read it al the time...i have sitemeter...and can see viewers from all over the world.....
im considering a selling blog....but its fuzzy so far....i started another blog, Green Oak Shop Talk (http://www.greenoakshoptalk.blogspot.com) but have no time to do it...
i need to focus more probably....ann
