* Put Emphasis on Originality of Images
* Put Emphasis on Quality of Images
* Image formatting: Image Slicing, Image cropping and Image Re-sizing
* Image file naming: Make sure the Image file name or IMG SRC string contains your prime keyword
* Avoid Usage of heavy images
* Image Tagging:
* SRC attribute specifying the URL of the image
* Width is specified in pixels
* Height specified in pixels
* Alt attribute that describes the content of the image-this is one of the most important elements of image optimization
* Title attribute that contains text to be displayed when the user hovers mouse over the image
* End up with an XHTML image reference
* Avoid query strings for IMG SRCs

@tallen,
Sometimes, you have seen in webpage images were taking much time to loading,due to heavy images in that server.So we might lose traffic as well as search engine reputation,So be careful,there are some plugin & tools are available by which we can resized images, which does not make any changed in the originality.

Top tips image optimization-

1 Alt text-Search engine uses to undestand image.
2 File size, name- file size is important for load time and this is important matter for seo.
3 image captions are important- they are one of the most knowing pieces of content on your site.
4 image site maps
5 File type right solutions- These are jpeg. gif and png.
