Default Questions for people who already have businesses running

Hi guys, we are trying to improve our business and we'd love to have some real information on people who already have a business running to try to improve ours, this is nothing too personal so don't worry.

We are just trying to figure out which are the problems and frustrations you might have in regards your business, we are just trying to find real problems and frustrations, to know more about the goals of the people, and use this knowledge to create something that can actually help people reach their goals.

    So, here are the questions:

    1.- What are your goals?

2.- What has been your greatest frustration when running your business?

3.- what are the problems you are facing now in your business?

4.- What do you feel could help you to improve your business?

5.- How could I help you in your business and your goals?

I'll see if I can answer, though I'm not sure how helpful my answers are going to be.

    1. My business goals change from time to time. Naturally I'd like to earn enough money to pay the bills and at eat as an absolute minimum. Of course I'd like more than that financially, but you probably get the idea. Money isn't my biggest motivator though. More is the quality of life my business affords me and the ability to work daily on problems that interest me.

    2. My biggest frustration is probably tied to money. There are more times that I'd like when I have to take on a project I'd rather not take on, just because business has been slow and I need to bring in the money. These projects are usually frustrating to work on from the moment they start.

    3. My biggest problem is trying to find more time in the day. There are plenty of projects I'd like to work on for myself that I think will provide ongoing income and allowing me to take on less of those frustrating projects. It's hard to find the time to work on them as much as I'd like though.

    4. See above. Assuming I can find the time to complete a couple of the projects I'd like to get to and assuming they do bring in the money I'd like each should free up my time a little more to work on the next one.

    5. I'm not sure there's anything you can do to help. What I need is mostly time to work on certain things I don't seem to be able to now. I don't think the solution is a product or service I don't currently have. In some respects it's more about me working a little harder and more importantly smarter. Most of that is about me reworking my own process.

Thanks a lot vangogh, this actually helps, it helps me to understand better many points of view, for example seeing you so busy, helps me realize that I need to create a way to do business that's easier for my clients and that doesn't take much time, because I had clients before who had this problem as well.

To help you out a bit, you should read this post, I was very busy as well and I started putting this to practice and it helped me a lot.

And I'm reading this book right now to improve that even more:

Thanks Angela, actually I'm kind of guilty of being late from time to time, I will work with that in the future it's not fair for people like you who work hard at it.

    1.- What are your goals?

    - I think Johnny Carson said it best - "The best thing about having money is you don't need to worry about having enough money". I don't want to worry about money!

2.- What has been your greatest frustration when running your business?

    - I'm a one man business. Time to do all the aspects of business from web site updating to accounting. Most of my time is spent in sales activities.

3.- what are the problems you are facing now in your business?

    - Time

4.- What do you feel could help you to improve your business?

    - I'm heavily in debt for reasons that aren't important. My business makes a good amount of money. Once I'm out of debt which could happen in a year or so, I would like to take my business to primarily online which would cut my income in half more or less. But it would still be a livable wage without debt. It's currently an online business, but most sales are closed by phone. At that time I want to look for a business that is more enjoyable while maintaining my current business for cash flow.

5.- How could I help you in your business and your goals?

    - I don't really see much. I just need to keep paying down debt.

    Thanks Bill

    Note:

It seems these questions created some problems in another forum, because they thought I was spamming or trying to sell them something, it seems the question #5 tick them off. But I did that question when I was starting a year ago to find more personally what type of services I could offer to people in order to help them out in anything they needed.

So just to make sure, I'm not trying to sell anything here, just to learn from your valuable knowledge, thanks a lot for your answers

    1.- What are your goals?

Maximum freedom of time, even if it means giving up income.

2.- What has been your greatest frustration when running your business?

Slow payments -- not having enough cash flow to deal with current express.

3.- what are the problems you are facing now in your business?

Depending too much on search results by Google, which seems to change its algorithms, and the rankings of my website every few months.

4.- What do you feel could help you to improve your business?

Not depending so much on one search engine, such as Google.

5.- How could I help you in your business and your goals?

Unless you work for Google's top levels, probably not much.

    1.- What are your goals?

Being able to make my own hours and have control over my money unlike working for someone where you've to work for X amount of money.

2.- What has been your greatest frustration when running your business?

Negotiation. I understand everyone wants better deal. However, if I knew an item would sell for $200, easy on craigslist and I chose to sell it for $125 to this person because I need fast cash. Yet, the person wants a better deal. I would not negotiate if someone gave me a fantastic deal in the first place.

3.- what are the problems you are facing now in your business?

Try to play mind game. Say, you want $65 for your item. Do you market it for $85 knowing that buyer will negotiate or do you sell it for $65 just to catch buyer's attention.

4.- What do you feel could help you to improve your business?

The more exposure, the better. I don't think I sell well because not many people know about me. I need to have people know about me via online and also word of mouth.

5.- How could I help you in your business and your goals?

    Maybe refer customers my way?
