It was announced a few months back that this would happen. Looks like Google quietly rolled out the update to it's search results on Friday when normally no one is looking for new tech news.

Today's change follows a similar move earlier this year, when Google began integrating tweets into mobile results, and comes roughly six months after Twitter announced (http://mashable.com/2015/02/05/twitter-struck-deal-google/) a deal with the tech giant.

Seems to only be for bigger accounts. I search owenbick, nothing. Just the link. I added the '@' to it, again, nothing. :(

It's not going to happen overnight for everyone. It was just integrated Friday.

I also suspect the same rules that apply to other content will apply here in that everyone's tweets will not immediately be found in search. It will be content based applicable to what you're searching for and by how many others have found the specific content and your content overall helpful or worth sharing.

Searching ownenbick won't do much for you if that branding is not consistent across the web, nor has any longevity, nor has any posts relevant to the search. However, I search for people's Twitter accounts all of the time by just using their "name,Twitter".

I think this is a great development. I really like to make sure that my client's branding is the same across all platforms and sharing relevant content frequently - it's nice to know that we may see even more payoff for putting in the hard work.
